How to Set Up Discounts and Coupon Codes in Funnelish
Why Discounts Are a Powerful Conversion Tool
Discounts and coupon codes are one of the most effective tools for increasing conversion rates and recovering hesitant buyers. A well-timed discount — whether it's a percentage off, a fixed dollar amount, or a free shipping offer — can be the final push a customer needs to complete their purchase.
Funnelish has a built-in discounts system that lets you create and manage discount codes directly inside the platform — no third-party apps required.
Types of Discounts in Funnelish
- Percentage discount — e.g. 20% off the order total
- Fixed amount discount — e.g. $10 off the order total
- Product-specific discount — applies only to specific products
- Automatic discount — applied automatically without a code
- Coupon code discount — customer enters a code at checkout
How to Create a Discount in Funnelish
Step 1 — Go to Discounts
In your Funnelish dashboard, navigate to the Discounts section in the advanced features menu. Click Create Discount to start building a new discount.
Step 2 — Set the Discount Type
Choose between percentage off or fixed amount off. Enter the discount value — for example, 25 for 25% off, or 10 for $10 off.
Step 3 — Set the Discount Code (Optional)
If you want customers to enter a code at checkout, enter a coupon code in the code field (e.g. SAVE20, LAUNCH10, SUMMER25). If you want the discount to apply automatically without a code, leave this field blank and enable the automatic discount toggle.
Step 4 — Set Usage Limits
You can limit how many times a discount can be used in total, or how many times a single customer can use it. This is useful for exclusive launch offers or influencer codes.
Step 5 — Set Expiry Date (Optional)
Add an expiry date to create urgency. Discounts that expire in 24–72 hours combined with a countdown timer on the checkout page are one of the highest-converting promotional tactics in ecommerce.
Step 6 — Apply to Specific Products or All Products
Choose whether the discount applies to all products in the funnel or only specific products. Product-specific discounts are useful for upsell offers where you want to give a special price on one item without discounting the entire order.
Using Discounts on Upsell Pages
Discounts are especially powerful on upsell pages. Showing a "special one-time offer" with a crossed-out original price and a discounted price creates strong urgency and perceived value. For example: $59.99 → $39.99 Today Only. This format consistently increases upsell acceptance rates.
Discount Code Best Practices
- Keep codes simple and memorable (SAVE20, WELCOME10)
- Use codes for influencer partnerships to track performance per creator
- Combine discount codes with countdown timers for maximum urgency
- Monitor discount usage in Funnelish analytics to track ROI
- Don't make discounts permanent — rotate offers to maintain perceived value
